A contributor is someone who keeps the goals of the organization at the center and still remains creative
Not more than 5-7% of an organization takes true responsibility for getting various things done. It is not that the rest of the people are not working, but they are not contributing.
There seems to be a difference between working and contributing. Organizations are winners because they seem to have a very powerful group of contributors. When there is a moment of crisis, you turn to a contributor and not a worker.
By contributor we mean someone who keeps the goals of the organization at the center and still remains creative. We don’t want a person to be so creative that he steps out of bounds and questions everything – ending up with no strategy. Nor do we want someone who is a blind follower who takes no initiative.
